Maraschino strain

Origins and lineage

Maraschino takes its name from the candied cocktail cherry, and the flower earns it: a cherry-line hybrid selected for a sweet, almost syrupy fruit nose with a floral edge behind it. We list it as a 50/50 hybrid because that is how it behaves — neither the racy lift of a sativa nor the heavy settle of an indica, but a level, even middle.

Aroma, taste and when it fits

Sweetness leads at 5 of 5 on our dessert axis, floral notes sit close behind at 4, and there is only a whisper of citrus and earth underneath — almost no fuel or spice. On the effect side every axis rests at a comfortable 3: a little cerebral, a little body, sociable without being loud, and still able to hold a train of thought.

That evenness is why it works as an afternoon strain: a slow walk through the Old City, a long lunch, sketching in a Nimman café. It does not push you anywhere.

Why it is a Hightown favourite

Maraschino has been the most purchased strain across our seven Chiang Mai branches in recent months — more individual purchases than anything else in the library. Part of that is the name and the smell; most of it is that it suits people who want to stay functional. Like every strain we grow, each harvest is scored on our own fifteen-axis profile before it reaches a counter, so the chart on this page describes the flower actually on the shelf, not a catalogue entry.
