Grape Gas is a strain developed by Compound Genetics, renowned for its distinctive blend of fruity and fuel-like aromas. The name itself perfectly encapsulates its unique character, presenting a rich and sweet grape scent intertwined with sharp, potent gassy undertones.
This cultivar is a cross between Grape Pie and Jet Fuel Gelato. Grape Pie, originally from Cannarado Genetics, contributes the sweet, jammy grape notes and often a deep purple coloration. Jet Fuel Gelato, a creation of Compound Genetics, passes on its prominent kerosene-like fuel aroma and creamy Gelato structure. This combination results in Grape Gas's signature profile, balancing fruit-forward sweetness with complex gassy elements.
Since its introduction in late 2019 to early 2020, Grape Gas quickly rose to prominence, becoming a defining cultivar in the “fruit-and-gas” category. It has achieved significant commercial success in California and garnered awards, including 1st Place Indica at the Michigan High Times Cannabis Cup in 2024. Highly valued by extractors for its exceptional hash yields, Grape Gas has also produced a constellation of notable descendants.
